In 2020, Hallam Land Management Limited submitted an outline planning application for the South Fareham Strategic Growth Area identified by the emerging Fareham Borough Local Plan.
In October 2021, the Borough Council submitted its Local Plan for examination; this included a proposed allocation to the south of Fareham for 1250 new homes.
Hearing Sessions were held in the March and April 2022 and considered a range of issues including the principle of this proposed allocation and the alteration to the Fareham – Stubbington Strategic Gap. The Local Plan Inspector’s Post Hearing Note indicated that she considered this a sound allocation.
Joint working between Hallam and the Borough Council has resulted in the preparation of an Illustrative Masterplan that is to be included in the Local Plan as a Main Modification. This is to be the basis for determining future planning applications. Modifications to the criteria of Policy HA55 are also proposed to reflect that joint working. The Council intends to consult in Main Modification in November and December 2022.
Hallam has now amended its application to reflect the new Illustrative Masterplan and Policy HA55.
