LRM Planning successfully secured full planning permission for an adult care development at the site of the former Bronllwyn care home in Gelli, on behalf of Adult Services at Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.
Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council planning committee voted unanimously in favour of the care home development that will support adults with learning disabilities. The proposal will replace an existing outdated care home. A host of complementary facilities are provided within the building, and landscaping has been designed with future residents in mind for leisure and recreation, which is a significant improvement on the inaccessible maintained grassed areas that surround the existing building.
The proposal will help to modernise residential care options within the County Borough. Extensive consultation with the Local Planning Authority, managers of the existing care home and local residents was of paramount importance to the success of this scheme.
The design and consultancy team, including Quattro Design Architects, Apex Transport, Smart Associates, Soltys Brewster, ArbTS, RPA Group, Green Hat Consulting, Drac Consulting and RedSix, have sought to deliver a proposal that will aid in addressing the known care home shortfall within the County Borough.
The development team is also very appreciative of James Emery, the case officer at the Local Authority, for the pragmatic, positive and responsive approach to dealing with the application.
