We are delighted that Arun District Council have granted outline planning permission for 300 new homes at Pagham for Hallam Land Management Limited.
Hook Lane is an allocated site in the recently adopted Local Plan, as is part of a Strategic Allocation of 1200 new homes.
An outline planning application was submitted in January 2017 alongside the Local Plan Proposed Modifications when the Council were seeking to address their shortfall in housing land supply. The proposed allocation was endorsed by the Local Plan Examination Inspector in his 2018 Report.
In the event, Arun’s Planning Committee first refused planning permission in January 2019 contrary to the advice of its Officers, but later resolved to grant permission for a resubmitted application in August 2019 and following completion of the Section 106 Agreement issued the permission on the 2nd September 2019.
An Appeal against the first decision to refuse planning permission was to be heard at a Public Inquiry on the 22nd October but this has now been withdrawn.
