On the 29th March 2023, outline planning permission was granted at Planning Committee for up to 56 affordable homes at Ffordd y Mileniwm, Barry, Vale of Glamorgan.

LRM Planning are pleased to have acted on behalf of JG Hale Construction, Hafod Housing Association, and Lynwood Investments, to secure outline planning permission for a residential development which will provide much needed affordable housing in the Vale of Glamorgan.

The site is located in a highly sustainable location within the built up area of Barry, development of which will reinforce the residential role of the Key Settlement. Having previously been utilised as a railway siding, the reuse of this brownfield land seeks to make the most efficient and effective use of land in a sustainable location.

The development team, comprising Dennis Hellyar Architects, DP Landscape Architecture, Hydrock, Treescene, Soltys Brewster, and Stuart Michael Associates, have expertly designed a well-considered scheme which responds to the site constraints. The linear design has ensured that the potential of the site has been realised, whilst delivering a scheme which is sympathetic to its context.
