Following our role in achieving Outline Planning Permission, LRM were pleased to be retained and have secured Reserved Matters approval for 62 apartments and a residential care building at land formerly known as Robert Price, Corporation Road, Newport.
The scheme will provide a high quality, design led, sustainable development which is both visually attractive and promotes healthy lifestyles.
The development comprises 50 private apartments, which are to offer a mix of one and two-bedrooms, and 12 affordable units, all of which are one-bedroom. The residential care home will accommodate five bedrooms. The proposals also include parking spaces, bicycle stores, pedestrian access routes connecting the access road with the existing cycle path and landscaping.
The design team, Hammond Architectural Ltd and Richard Andrews Architects, have provided a high-quality development which responds to the site’s context, ensuring that the breadth of strengths and opportunities of the site are realised and any constraints are suitably mitigated.
The development team who worked proactively to achieve this positive result also included MHP Chartered Landscape Architects (landscape), Quad Consult Ltd (engineering and drainage), Soltys Brewster (ecology) and Stuart Michael Associates (transport).
