Please find below our latest update regarding local authority decision making protocol as a result of Covid-19.
Much welcomed progress by Local Authorities in Wales in moving towards virtual planning committees following regulations that were put in place in Wales on 23rd April 2020 which make temporary provision for local authority meetings to be conducted on the basis of full or partial remote attendance. A number of councils in South Wales have set dates for virtual committees with first committees likely to be truncated with a view to establish best practice. Others are likely to follow in the coming weeks, so please check back regularly for updates. The majority of Councils in the south west of England are now set up to hold Planning Committee virtually.
This briefing note covering South Wales and the South West of England includes the most recent changes since our last note was issued on the 7th May.
