LRM Planning Ltd have had the pleasure of providing planning guidance for a scheme which has won the Construction Excellence Wales Award for Innovation.
The scheme, developed by Monmouthshire Housing Association, has redeveloped underutilised and derelict garage sites to provide 8 homes with associated car parking and landscaping across two sites at St Teilo’s Road, Abergavenny, and Elm Road, Caldicot, both in Monmouthshire.
The dwellings were carefully designed to provide high energy efficiency homes and to ensure they are versatile to adapt to change depending on the occupier’s circumstances. The development will be constructed and managed by Monmouthshire Housing Association to provide much needed affordable housing across the sites for two definitive demographics; older people wanting to downsize and younger ‘first timers’.
The award has been presented on the 25th September 2020, and feedback from the judges included the recognition of the high level of quality the other entries set. LRM Planning are very pleased to have helped in gaining this award. It has been a pleasure working with the team on this scheme, and LRM Planning look forward to working on the future phases of this ‘Build for Life’ scheme.
